ARE LOWER DUI LIMITS COMING?

The legal limit for a DUI is 0.08%, but that may change if advocates against drinking and driving get their way. An initiative by a scientific panel, reporting to the US Government, is asking for the blood alcohol content rate to decrease from 0.08% to 0.05%. What this means in practical living is limiting the number of drinks. Depending on your weight, age, sex, and tolerance level this could mean that after only one or two drinks an average female would be considered legally drunk, for an average male the number of drinks would hover around three. It is important to know if changes take place, because this type of change could drastically increase the possibility of being given a DUI. And, any time a driver gets a DUI there are a host of legal issues to consider. In Oklahoma, as the law currently stands, you have to attack a case against you on two fronts. There is the administrative portion of the case dealing with the right to drive and potential revocation of your license, and the criminal aspect of the case. We know how to handle both, and can help if you have been given a DUI.
