CONTINUED DEBATE RAGES ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA ISSUES

Many states have legalized the use of marijuana, if not for full recreational use then at least for medical purposes. In June voters across the state will go to the polls to vote on this issue here at home. State question 788 is slated for a vote on whether Oklahoma will join the states that allow use of the substance for medicinal needs. Opponents argue a yes vote would be harmful to the state, while proponents argue legalization of marijuana would help the state’s struggling economy. Proponents also believe legalizing marijuana for true medical needs will help to end the opioid crisis that is currently not only sweeping the nation, but is a huge issue in Oklahoma.
