HOSTY LAW OFFICE COURT DRESS CODE GUIDELINES

Appearing in court with your attorney can be a scary experience. We understand you might be nervous about going to court, and don’t want to add to your stress by having to wear fancy clothes. But to avoid unwanted attention or embarrassment, it is important to dress appropriately when you show up for your hearing. Shorts and flip flops are not allowed in Court, and you should avoid tight and revealing clothing. Make sure your clothes are clean and free from rips or holes and stay away from wearing shirts with slogans or offensive artwork. It is best to wear pants or a skirt with a modest shirt, and women can wear dresses that are not too short. As always, do not bring weapons into the courtroom and be sure to silence your cell phone before entering the building. You should also be prepared to pass through security, so give yourself the extra time needed to arrive for your hearing on time.
