LEGAL TIP OF THE WEEK
MARIJUANA IN OUR SCHOOLS?
Students with a medical need now have the choice to be administered medical marijuana while at school. The OKC district voted to allow kids with a condition that is treated by medical marijuana to take it at school. To be clear, the student is not given the freedom to take the drug at will and at any time or place. The district will be providing a private location for a third party caregiver to administer the medication. The caregiver is not allowed to stay on campus and may only stay long enough to give the student the medication. This is one of a few things we can expect to see with the legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes, and there are sure to be other rules and regulations that are handed down as we all become more familiar with the law passed last year.
