MORE MAPS PROGRESS IN OKC

The MAPS project in downtown Oklahoma City was an initiative nearly 20 years ago for funding development and growth in the downtown area. Since the passage of MAPS the area has grown exponentially. The addition of the canal was one of the first projects, then came new construction of restaurants, sports facilities, shops, and conference centers. The area is now poised for new expansion, as a new six story building is set to be built along Oklahoma City Boulevard and an area known as Strawberry Fields taking a firm foothold in the heart of the city. Downtown Oklahoma City will soon be a mecca of housing, schooling, shops, and eateries; giving the City more of an urban feel and drawing more young professionals to the area. This type of growth is not only vibrant and exciting, but is also necessary to the sustainability of Oklahoma City as a “big city” that can attract more jobs and continue to build a thriving economy.
