NEW GUN LAW SET TO TAKE EFFECT NOVEMBER 1

As of November 1 Oklahoma residents will be allowed to carry a gun in public, without a license and without any training. While critics of House Bill 2597 are worried about public safety, Governor Stitt believes the measure will actually promote safety. In order to carry a firearm under this legislation you must be at least 21 (or 18 if you are in the military) and your record must be free from any felony conviction. The law also does not provide for allowing mentally ill persons to carry without a license or training. If you have questions or concerns about this new law, or what to do if you are charged with a weapons related crime, call our office.
