OKC JAIL MAY GET A VISIT FROM THE FEDS

Blog Post

The Oklahoma County jail can expect federal inspectors early in the year, and one thing the inspectors may notice right away is a smaller jail population. This will be helpful in keeping federal oversight of the facility at a minimum, which means a lower change of federal maintenance of the jail. The jail itself has been plagued with problems since it first opened, ranging from escapes to issues with how the building was built. These problems have resulted in claims of civil right violations by inmates, and the sooner the problems are fixed the sooner the running of the jail will revert back to the county, without federal oversight.
