PROBE INTO RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE WITH PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION UNLIKELY TO END WITH TRIAL

For the better part of the past few years allegations of Russian interference with the last US Presidential election has grabbed the attention of the nation. The story routinely makes headlines and is one of the most hotly debated topics on social media sites. An indictment was recently handed down, and the move was history unfolding right before our eyes. While the country may be split on the issue, one thing is a likely certainty, and that is the chances of a trial are pretty slim. The reason? As of now the persons indicted have not even been taken into custody. A more likely outcome is that those indicted will stand trial in the court of “public opinion” and face travel restrictions. The media hype around the storyline may be enough to act as a warning, and remind us all to be more cautious when accepting data at face value.
