SCHOOL FUNDING TO BE VOTED ON IN NOVEMBER

Come November, Oklahoma voters will head back to the polls. One very important question is State Question 801, which if passed, allows school districts to use the funds raised through real estate taxes to pay things like teacher salaries. The money would be used to pay for things like textbooks and classroom needs, all without passing on the cost to taxpayers. With school back in session, the teacher walkout that happened at the end of last school year is in the front of everyone’s minds, as we all hope for a smooth academic year. State Question 801 may help provide what teachers need, but as with any issues on the ballot it is crucial to do your own independent research before exercising your right to vote.
