SONIC TAKES ACTION TO PROTECT CUSTOMERS’ IDENTITY

The news has been full of stories recently regarding data breaches that have put consumers’ personal data at risk. The biggest of these stories involved Equifax, when 143 million accounts were compromised. On a more local level, Sonic announced it had also suffered a data breach. In order to protect its customers, Sonic is offering complimentary fraud protection services for any customer who used a card at a Sonic location this year. The protection offered will be for 24 months, as an effort to rebuild consumer trust in the popular drive in restaurant.
