TAX FREE WEEKEND IS HERE!

Back to school is an expensive time. Families have to buy school supplies, new clothes, and gear up for the upcoming year. To help offset some of these costs, many retailers participate in a tax free weekend. The goal is to get more shoppers in the door, and also to keep our dollars in Oklahoma rather than crossing the state border for lower prices or to take advantage of another state’s tax free incentives. All clothing and shoes costing less than $100 per item are exempt from sales tax from August 3 to August 5. Other items are also included in the tax free weekend, so before you make your shopping list and run errands this weekend, do a quick check to see where you can save, and what items are covered.
