TIPS FOR CELL PHONE USE

Not that long ago there were reports of a celebrity “body shaming” an elderly woman in the locker room of a fitness facility. The incident involved a cell phone snap shot of the woman, and was posted with derogatory remarks by the celebrity. Locally, a man has been arrested for taking photos of women in a metro retail shop. These invasions of privacy are not only unlawful, but emotionally traumatic and serve as good reminders about proper cell phone use. Many gyms now have no cell phone policies in place and of course things you post online can come back to haunt you later. Our practice focuses on defending people charged with crimes, and in particular DUI and other traffic violations. Please keep in mind that when you are out with friends having fun, the photos you take and post to your social media might be used against you as evidence later. The best rule of thumb is that when in doubt, leave it out!
