UNNECESSARY DELAYS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM MAY BE ENDING

Blog Post, current events, Knowing Your Rights

If you have ever been a defendant in a criminal case, or known someone who has, you may be all too familiar with delays along the way. But this may be changing soon, as the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Advisory Council has been provided information about a possible new data system that allows departments to share information easier. As it stands now, different departments may not have the most up to date information about a case, and this can result in hearings being postponed or incorrect inmates being delivered to the Courthouse. But changing the way the information is shared among Court personnel and others along the line in the system would speed things up and get cases handled more efficiently. Certain departments are seeking grants to cover the cost, and we will keep on top of this story as it develops.
