UP NEXT FOR THE STATE LEGISLATURE

In April the Governor signed seven new laws impacting how the criminal justice system works in Oklahoma. Many of the new laws are aimed at reducing the number of non-violent offenders being placed behind bars and will help to cut down on repeat offenses by offering other forms of punishment. The ultimate goal is to educate rather than impose excessive punishment, and we hope for a system where the punishment actually fits the crime rather than working a hardship on defendants when the offense is minor. But, there is still work to do and we will continue to keep you updated.
