WHAT TO EXPECT FROM PASSAGE OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA

A lot has been said about State Question 788, legalizing marijuana in Oklahoma for medicinal purposes. On June 26 the voters made their voices heard and the measure passed. Of note regarding the law are things like age limits (you must be 18 to get a license for use, or must have parental consent and the approval of two doctors), who can prescribe (a board certified physician), enforcement (the State Dept. of Health will open a new office to oversee dispensaries and growers), and what medical conditions are needed for a prescription (no specific condition is required). There will likely be a special session of the State Legislature to work out some specifics, and we are here for you to answer any questions you have about this new law.
