WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH 4/20? WEED DAY, OR A GOOD DAY FOR COPS TO MAKE TRAFFIC STOPS?

April 20 is known as “Weed Day”, but is that really the case or is it just a good excuse for police officers to make extra traffic stops? It is a possibility, given urban legend has it that the code “420” is what officers use when calling in a possible marijuana smoking in progress. Still another explanation for 4/20 being designated as “Weed Day” is the widely accepted belief that 4:20 is the time of day most regulars smoke pot, which comes from a group of kids in California that would meet at that time every day after school, merely out of convenience rather than for a specific reason.
