POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF LEGALIZING MARIJUANA

The State of Colorado was a pioneer when it came to legalization of marijuana, and one of the reasons the measure passed in that state was the promise of a boost to the economy. While the issue is up for debate, there is no question but that in the small border town of Trinidad, Colorado business is booming. Just north of the New Mexico border, Trinidad has seen a surge in visitors, and not all of them stay put in the rocky mountain state. So while Trinidad seems to be reaping the benefits of legalizing marijuana, those that decide to buy there need to be keenly aware that what is legal in Colorado is not yet legal in the bordering states. Oklahoma is one example of a state that borders Colorado but has not yet legalized marijuana, and this is leading to potential arrests when visitors cross state lines. Until the issue is put to a vote, keep in mind the activity is not yet legal here at home.
