Oklahomans are known for lending a helping hand in the face of disaster. The willingness of friends, strangers, and neighbors to step up and help when needed has been come to be known as the “Oklahoma standard”. This spirit of volunteering when others need assistance can be seen after tornadoes and is alive in well in the community. But many volunteer centers are short on help, and those that do come in to work are left scrambling to get a lot of tasks done in a short amount of time. Places like food banks and shelters are in need of help, and if you are able we thank you for your time and commitment to showing compassion to those in need.
