CAR SEAT STATS
Emergency care workers and physicians credit the difference between a fatal car accident vs. a non-fatal accident when infants are involved to proper use of car seats. This stat follows the same pattern seen in auto related deaths for adults, where use of a seatbelt saves more lives than when seatbelts are not used. In fact, the figures for infant deaths are so staggering that it has been reported 8 out of 20 infant deaths in 2015 were the result of not being properly restrained. These numbers make it clear that the best way to protect your child from harm while in the car is by use of an approved and proper car seat. And if these figures are not enough to persuade you, keep in mind that restraining an infant in a car seat is also the law.
