GOVERNOR APPROVES CHANGES TO DUI LAWS: WHAT’S NEW?
State Bill 643, set to take effect on November 1, 2017 has two main changes to the way DUI suspects are treated. As it is now, if you are pulled over on suspicion of DUI you have the right to refuse to take a breath test. But after November 1 that will no longer be the case. Senate Bill 643 was signed by Governor Fallin on June 8, 2017.The changes could have potentially devastating effects, such as mandatory jail time for refusing to take a breath test, on DUI defendants.
