IS OKLAHOMA CITY A CITY OF THE FUTURE?

Blog Post, current events, latest, News

In the past decade Oklahoma City has seen tremendous growth and innovation. And it seems as though that growth may continue. The MAPS 3 streetcar could be just the ticket the City needs to become a serious player in high tech jobs and ideas. The MAPS 3 streetcar is being considered for automation, meaning it will operate without a driver. In order to make this scientific dream a reality, the manufacturer of the streetcars slated to begin operations in 2018 will need to undergo testing for possible changes that allow it to operate without a live driver. The time needed to conduct testing is perfectly in line with the roll out date of the streetcar, and could give OKC an image boost in the field of technology. This would mean more specialized jobs, which can attract big business to our City.
