Just over ten years ago Oklahoma became known as one of the meth capitals of the country. More arrests for meth were made in Oklahoma than most any other state, and lawmakers responded with harsh set of drug enforcement laws. Despite these rules and regulations being put in place though, the number methamphetamine related deaths has increased in the past seven years; from around 90 a year to just over 325 in 2016. This is an increase of about 250%. These statistics are good reason to keep on top of a growing crisis, and monitoring how our elected officials will respond.
