NEW LIQUOR LAWS SET TO TAKE EFFECT

On October 1st Oklahomans will be able to buy full strength beer, and wine in grocery stores. The new law was voted in when State Question 792 was passed, even against strong opposition that allowing grocery stores to sell beer and wine would hurt local liquor store business. But the law has been the same for almost 60 years, and the voters felt it was time for a change. The convenience of being able to grab groceries for dinner and add a bottle of wine or a full strength beer to the purchase was attractive to many, and the changes will be in place October 1st. You may have already noticed many stores preparing shelves for the change, and soon enough you will probably see those aisles full of shoppers.
