ANOTHER SCHOOL SHOOTING

With the school shooting in Parkland, FL still an open and fresh wound, another school shooting has happened. On March 20, 2018 a Maryland student at Great Mills High School shot two other students, one of which is rumored to be a prior girlfriend. The school’s resource office reacted quickly, an action which was given high praise by the local Sheriff. The shooter did not survive the incident and the school was placed on lockdown for a brief time after the incident. The idea that this type of activity “would never happen here” is quickly becoming an idea of the past yet the country remains divided on what action should be taken to reduce or eliminate these incidents. Gun control is top of every parent’s mind, and until all children return home safely from school the issue is likely to continue to grab national headlines.
