SMOKING AIN’T ALLOWED IN SCHOOL…OR IS IT?

Along with the need for regulating medical marijuana for those in need comes the need to come up with rules for how a school will react if a student happens to be one of those in need. It is possible for a child under the age of 18 to obtain a prescription, but many schools have rules on how to dispense medication and medical marijuana is no different. The State Department of Education will be taking a look at how other states with legalized medicinal marijuana have handled this issue, in the hopes of coming up with rules and policies that do not adversely affect the student body as a whole. If your child needs a prescription for medical marijuana, be sure to check with your school to learn what restrictions may or may not be in place regarding use.
