THE TROUBLE WITH TASERS

Arrested For DUI/DWI/APC?, Blog Post

Tasers are meant to help save lives, not result in the use of deadly force. A Taser is supposed to incapacitate a suspect so the police can make an arrest without complications, but when a Taser fails authorities have to rely on other means to subdue a suspect. More and more frequently, Tasers used by the police force are failing to fire, giving officers no choice but to use lethal force. The problem is that not all of the Taser failures are the result of malfunctioning equipment, but a fast moving suspect or one who puts up a fight. In those instances a Taser is ineffective, and backup methods such as firearms are used. Technology is a great thing when your smartphone updates properly, but when technology fails and the result is physical harm, alternative solutions should be explored.
