CAN YOU MAKE A COPY WITHOUT VIOLATING COPYRIGHT LAWS?
If you have ever wondered if you can share an image or make copies from a book to pass out to a class full of students without violating a copyright law, you are probably not alone. Students, teachers, friends, and co-workers are quick to run a copy on the copier when multiple people need access to the same information but knowing what you can do lawfully is always a good idea. You may be surprised to know that sometimes making copies from a published work, in bulk, runs afoul of these laws. But not all copying amounts to a copyright infringement. The doctrine of fair use generally allows for copies to be made, but there are some exceptions to this rule. This is an interesting subject, and one we may hear more of as companies and businesses look more and more at what type of copying services are available.
