HAPPY EASTER
Three days after the
crucifixion of Jesus, scripture tells us Jesus rose – this is the resurrection and is celebrated among Christians on Easter Sunday. The holiday has religious history, but there are also traditions that have developed over time that do not necessarily have ties to Christianity. One of the most popular traditions is the Easter bunny, a story which is thought to have started in America in the early 1700s when German immigrants continued their tradition of placing colored eggs in “nests”. The Easter bunny became more common in the 1800’s and associated with Easter because the large number of bunnies most rabbits give birth to symbolize new life.
