WHAT IS BAIL?

If you have been arrested chances are you will need to post bail. Bail is the money paid to get you out of jail while you wait for your case to come to the Court. It is always a good idea to know how bail works, because in most cases it will be a family member or good friend who comes to post bail and get you out of jail. The amounts vary depending on the charges, and that is where the need for a bondsman comes in – a bondsman is someone who “fronts” the bail money in exchange for payment of a percentage of the total amount.
